From Wendy’s wealth of educational experience she will give tips and tricks on how to help struggling readers blend sounds.
She will also outline the core values behind a phonic approach, how to use readers and why phonic books are so important.
She will explore the story of how Dandelion PhonicBooks came about and the policy behind the Readers and Catch-Up Readers.
The main focus of the workshop is to give you phonic based tips and tricks to help struggling readers improve, not to sell you phonicbooks (although we do recommend them, and they will be available for viewing and purchase on the day). Wendy has many years experience teaching struggling readers with a phonics based approach and her tips and tricks will be valuable to everyone, not just users of Dandelion Phonic Books.
Wendy Tweedie and PhonicBooks
Phonic Books Ltd is a small company specialising in publishing decodable books for beginner and catch-up readers.
The company was founded in 2006 by Wendy Tweedie, Tami Reis-Frankfort and Clair Baker, three special needs teachers passionate about teaching all children to read. Using their expertise and Wendy’s own personal experience of having dyslexia, they set about developing phonic reading books for young children and older, struggling readers.
