This workshop is targeted at parents, caregivers, and/or family members of children with learning disabilities who show signs of anxiety. Areas to be covered are:
- How to recognise anxiety
- What are the physical symptoms – flight and fight mode
- How to help – at home, socially and in the classroom
- Where to get help for anxiety
- Comorbidity of SLDs and anxiety
Rose Evans and Noosha Anzab are Provisional Psychologist based at PSYCHmatters Concord. Rose specialises in Psychometric testing and profiling, child and adolescent issues, anxiety and depression. Rose uses an evolutionary and bio-psycho-social model in her practice and has worked closely with a range of children from intellectually challenged to intellectually gifted. Rose is the current consulting Psychologist for MENSA Australia and Director of CAE Psychological Profiling. She works closely with families to ensure therapeutic gains are made and maintained outside the therapeutic setting. Noosha is in possession of a Master’s in Counselling and Psychotherapy following her Psychology degree. She specialises in children who suffer from anxiety, obsessive compulsive disorder, panic disorder, depression and grounding. Noosha uses a humanitarian approach with heavy consideration to contemporary psychotherapy.
