Language Essentials for Teachers of Reading and Spelling (LETRS®) Course

Combined Online and Face-to-Face Delivery in SYDNEY

The LETRS® course includes eight units of study, typically completed across two years. Each unit commences with a full day, face-to-face workshop. Participants then complete the online content in their own time. Unit 1 – The Challenge of Learning to Read – comprises eight online sessions, taking approximately 1.5 to 2 hours to complete.

Courses will be run in every Australian state, with face-to-face workshops generally run at the state SPELD offices.

Unit 1 – The Challenge of Learning to Read.

This initial face-to-face session provides an overview of the LETRS® course and introduces the first unit of study.

Dates for the remaining three face-to-face sessions will be negotiated with attendees at the initial face-to-face session.

This workshop is suitable for primary school teachers and learning support teachers

 

This LETRS course meets the following professional standards for teachers:
1.1, 1.2, 1.3, 1.5, 2.2, 2.5, 3.2, 3.3, 5.1, and 5.4.
