This workshop explains the pedagogy and research underpinning the Little Learners Love Literacy program and gives teachers the tools to implement this explicit and sequential literacy approach.
Explicit instruction (half day workshop, 15 March) participants will explore the basic tenets of explicit instruction and the benefits for all students including those with learning difficulties.
Response to Intervention (full day workshop, 16 March) is a multi-tier approach to the early identification and support of students with learning and behaviour needs. This workshop will examine the critical components of Response to Intervention.
In this practical full-day successful strategies for assisting students with developmental learning disorders, such as dyslexia, will be identified and the AUSPELD Learning Difficulties Guide will be explored.
Sounds-Write is an evidence-based highly structured, synthetic, linguistic phonics program utilising an exciting and highly successful approach to the teaching of reading and spelling. This four-day intensive course provides lesson plans which are clearly structured and easily followed within a systematic, synthetic phonics program.
