We welcome each and every member to attend our Special General Meeting and our Annual General Meeting which will be held on the 29th of February 2016. This last year has been full of changes to the organisation and we would like to share them with you and thank you for your support.
The Management Committee with the assistance of Gilbert + Tobin Partners have prepared a New Constitution for our organisation. The discussion of the need for an updated Constitution precedes my involvement in SPELD NSW and has gained more support as time has gone by.
The reasons for making this change can be put down to the following:
1. The changing technology that exists today.
2. The need to operate more quickly in a business environment.
3. To be seen as a more substantial force in our special area.
The next step in the process is for the general membership to give its support. A resolution will be put to the Special General Meeting on the 29th of February that the Constitution as presented to the meeting be adopted by the full membership. If you cannot be at the meeting, please show your support by returning the Proxy form with your acceptance of this resolution.
A mail out to financial members has gone last week as required by the present Constitution. The copy of the proposed Constitution is included below. If you would like to receive a printed copy, please let us know and it will be forwarded to you.
I would like to remind all 2015 members who have not paid their membership this year that these funds are an important part of what keeps us going and if you have not paid you will not be able to vote on the Constitutional resolution. To all 2016 members who have already renewed we thank you.
