SPELD NSW Membership

  • Membership gives you discounts on professional development and purchases online. Membership is available for schools, individuals, tutors and professionals.

  • Your membership allows us to supports more children and adults with specific learning difficulties.

 


Assessments

From 2019, SPELD NSW will offer psychological assessments of children, adolescents and adults to identify their learning strengths and weaknesses and if they have an identifiable learning disorder.

Advocacy and Information

SPELD NSW acts as an advocate for students with specific learning difficulties and their families, teachers and schools.

We believe an important part of advocating for students with SLDs is providing hands on evidence based training to teachers, tutors and other professionals that work with them.

In 2018 we held 17 professional development events.

  • There were 606 registrations to these events.
  • 8,320 hours of NESA registered professional development provided.

SPELD NSW professional development includes evidence-based literacy and numeracy programs and best practice approaches to teach and support students with specific learning difficulties like dyslexia.

 

Teachers Certificate Course

This annual certificate course provides specialist training for teachers of students with specific learning difficulties. It addresses reading, spelling, comprehension, numeracy and more.
Early bookings recommended.

 

In-school Workshops

SPELD NSW can visit your school to deliver professional development for your teachers and seminars for your parents and carers on understanding, supporting and teaching students with learning difficulties. If you are interested please email enquiries@speldnsw.org.au.
