Volunteers are essential to the work of SPELD NSW. If you have some available time, we would love to have you join one of our volunteer teams.

Help keep SPELD NSW’s catalogue of books up to date and handle requests from parent and tutor members to borrow resources.
Volunteer commitment: once a week or fortnight for 3 to 4 hours in the SPELD NSW office in Concord.
Skills and attributes: good organisational skills and a desire to help families with a student with a learning difficulty
Help us keep the SPELD NSW Website updated with new and relevant content. Help prepare the SPELD NSW Members’ E-News!
Volunteer commitment: between 3 and 4 hours once a week or fortnight. Can be completed at home or in the SPELD NSW office in Concord.
Skills and attributes: marketing, journalism/writing skills or simply a passionate interest in learning difficulties.
Working Bee Team
Join our working bee list! SPELD NSW will email the working bee list to ask for help on an ad hoc basis with preparing resource kits, putting together mail outs or any other project where lots of hands make light work.
Volunteer commitment: 3 to 4 hours at the SPELD NSW office no more than once a month.
Skills and attributes: willingness to help and a love of laminating!
50th Anniversary Events Team
SPELD NSW turns 50 this year! We are planning some events to celebrate and bring our supporters and members together. Join this team and help plan and coordinate these events.
Volunteer commitment: 3 to 4 hours a week either at home or at the SPELD NSW office.
Skills and attributes: event management, marketing, publications, creativity and enthusiasm!
